Typically volunteers, ushers are responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere within a place of worship. Their duties include greeting and assisting congregants as they enter, helping them find seating, recruiting Mass attendees to bring up the gifts during the Offertory, distributing worship materials and bulletins, directing visitors to the restrooms and other church meeting rooms, facilitating the offertory collection, and addressing any special needs or concerns. Ushers also play a key role in maintaining order during religious ceremonies and guiding the congregation during processions. Their presence contributes to the overall sense of community and hospitality within the religious community, ensuring that worshippers can focus on their spiritual experience with a sense of comfort and support.
