Baptism

Parents of children under the age of 7 who wish to baptize their children are required to attend our 4 pre-baptism class sessions. Eligible godparents must also attend the pre-baptism sessions. Classes are consecutive and begin the first Sunday of each month. We must have your child's birth certificate and the required documentation for each godparent prior to pre-baptism class registration. 

Also, please note the following: 

• Parents of the child must be registered with Saint Lawrence Parish. Newly registered members will need to actively live their faith for a minimum of six months prior to receiving a sacrament. 
• There is no fee for receiving the sacrament of Baptism
• Baptisms take place on one Saturday and Sunday of each month. Please contact the parish office to check availability. 

Godparent Eligibility: 

• At least one godparent must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. If they are living in a free union, a civil marriage, or other marriage not (yet) approved by the Church, they cannot serve as a godparent.
• If a godparent is a parishioner at another parish we will give them a document to take to their parish to have them fill out on their behalf. 
• A copy of the godparents' sacraments must be turned in to before pre-baptism class registration.
