St. Lawrence Community,
My name is Kim Jamell and I am the president of the St. Lawrence School PFO (Parent Faculty Organization). I would like to begin by sincerely thanking you for taking the time and effort to support the PFO. Without your contributions of both time and money, we could not serve our purpose.
The purpose of the PFO is to support the school in all areas. This includes providing volunteers and funds to help with daily operations and especially special events. The school is a ministry of the parish, so your efforts strengthen the whole St. Lawrence Community. For example, this year we will be helping with the parish-wide fall festival.
The funds we raise are spent to enhance the learning climate of the school, which encompasses everything from building improvements to teacher appreciation to buying texts or materials for the classrooms. This year we purchased 3 of the 5 new Smart boards for the school. Our principal and teachers are very proud of these and will be utilizing them to their fullest. We also spend a small amount on fun community-building events like the Catholic Schools Week Dance. We try to spend down our budget each year, so that the children and families who raised the money will benefit from it.
As committees go, we are very effective and efficient. Our meetings are about one hour per month and we accomplish a great deal. It is a very rewarding ministry with clear and immediate results.
Again we owe this to your continued support. Thank you and please feel welcome to join us on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 in the school. Also, you can sign up to help at Back to School Night on August 11th and Open House on August 18th.

On Wednesday, Sept 3rd turn in your box tops. The family that turns in the most will win an IPod Nano.
Box Top Store
The box top store will be open every Tuesday, Starting Sept 9th from
7:30— 7:45 in the breezeway. Turn in your box tops for fun prize, and even dress down passes.
