Heavenly Father, We pray that you continue to own, direct, sustain, empower, and make fruitful, Christ Renews His Parish at St. Lawrence. We pray that you continue to use Christ Renews as one of your instruments to heal and forgive, to bless and anoint, to grow your people, and to send them forth to do your work. We ask your blessings and guidance on all who serve as team members, servants of you and your people whom you have gathered. We ask an abundance of your grace and your holy touch on all those who come aside to spend time with you and your people on a Christ Renews weekend. Lastly, we ask your guidance on all those as they seek your next step in the spiritual journey you give them to live. Amen.
We renew all sorts of things, driver’s licenses, library books, magazine subscriptions. Now, men of St. Lawrence have an opportunity to renew their subscription to a Godly life! All men (18years or older), please prayerfully consider joining us for the Men’s Christ Renews His Parish Renewal Weekend on February 25 & 26, 2012. We start at 8 am Saturday and end around 4 pm Sunday afternoon. All you bring is your dock kit, clothes, pillow and blanket. Everything else is provided for you, even transportation! Our goal is to create a spiritual oasis where you leave the world and all its concerns behind. Here you can return to the Father, feel His unconditional love and renew your relationship. This will all happen in the community setting of our parish and with other men of the parish. If you’ve felt like the Holy Spirit has been preparing you for something life changing this may be it. What is a Christ Renews His Parish?
It is a time to relax, pray and rethink priorities.
It is a time to get to know others in the parish and grow as community.
It is an opportunity to examine, rediscover, and/or intensify your personal relationship with Christ.
It is a weekend of reflection and sharing of spiritual and real life issues.
You will not be required to speak in front of the group; however, you participation in the group discussion is a key to the retreat.
Christ Renews His Parish is unlike any retreat, workshop, or conference that you have ever attended! The weekend is centered around presentations by team members – ordinary women and men - on themes such as Renewal, Christian Community and Spirituality. Each presentation is followed by small group discussion, sharing and fun activities. You will be free to share as much or as little as you wish. Dress casually and comfortably. Your weekend mass obligation will be fulfilled, and you will also have an opportunity for Reconciliation. There will be special times set aside for group prayer, personal prayer, and quiet meditation. Fellowship, music, laughter, and group sharing are all a part of the experience! Please listen to the urging of the Holy Spirit, and consider giving this gift to yourself!

Printed forms can be put in the collection basket, or dropped off at the parish office. If you wish, you can also fill out the form below online and just click submit! CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH NEEDS YOU!
Christ Renews His Parish weekends are fast approaching for both men and women of St. Lawrence. We need YOU! Food, supplies, and other materials just seem to “magically” appear to make the weekends run smoothly. YOU are the magicians! The Continuation Committee is looking for donations of many items. Please consider contributing food, such as casseroles for meals, snacks, desserts, soft drinks, bottled water, juice, coffee, or fresh fruit. We are also in need of paper products, like plates, napkins, hot and cold cups, bowls and flatware. We are also signing up both men and women to serve the meals during each weekend. If you would like to help out with other expenses, such as purchasing bibles, notepads or additional food and drinks, you may write out a check to St. Lawrence with a memo line dedicating your contribution to Christ Renews. Open my eyes, Lord.
Help me to see your face. Open my eyes, Lord. Help me to see.
And I will see your face in all those who serve meals and provide two days of delicious food for the "Christ Renews" retreat. And I will see your face in the volunteers who provide snacks and transportation and prayers.
Open my ears, Lord. Help me to hear your word.
And I will hear your voice in the "Christ Renews" women sharing their faith stories. And I will hear your voice in songs of praise and thanksgiving. And I will hear your voice in Scripture, your voice whispered in my ear.
Open my heart, Lord. Help me to love like you.
I will open myself to the gift of this "Christ Renews" weekend to draw closer to you. I will open myself to the gift of friendship extended to me by the women of Christ Renews His Parish.
